‘Supergirl’ Casts Henry Czerny As Toyman

Yet another member of Superman’s rogue gallery will appear on CBS’s Supergirl, as Revenge star Henry Czerny has been tapped to play Winslow Schott, aka Toyman in the freshman series. Czerny is currently set to guest star as the DC comics villain for one episode. Whether or not he returns in the role remains to be seen. Here’s the official character description by Comicbook.com:

Winslow Schott, Sr. is a classic D.C. supervillain, a mad criminal genius known as Toyman – and Winn’s estranged father. Toyman weaponizes toys to wreak destruction and revenge but is ultimately driven by one thing – the obsessive desire to reunite with his beloved son.

This isn’t Toyman’s first live-action appearance, as the character has previously appeared in four episodes of CW’s Smallville, played by Chris Gauthier. Sherman Hemsley also portrayed the villain on ABC’s Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman back in 1994. Czerny’s interpretation of the character will be the estranged father of Jeremy Jordan’s Winn Schott.

You can catch the first episode of Supergirl tonight at 8:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
