’Supergirl’: ‘Changing’ Review

Previous1 of 6

supergirl-206-reviewSupergirl has been focusing heavily on identity and changes in the new season so far and this week’s episode was all about the theme of changing as several characters did soul searches within themselves.

The episode starts out with Kara and Mon-El getting wasted in the underground alien bar, where Alex and Maggie continue to bond. Maggie convinces Alex to come out of the closet to her family about her sexuality. However after coming out to Kara, Alex discovers that Maggie isn’t ready to begin a romantic relationship with Alex who is just now exploring her sexuality.

After getting infected by a parasite, scientist Rudy Jones becomes a power drainer which becomes a big problem for both Kara and J’onn J’onzz. As James sees the damage that Parasite had on Supergirl and Martian Manhunter, he convinces Winn to give him the new vigilante outfit. He suits up for the first time and takes on the name of Guardian.

While all of this is going on, Mon-El is trying to figure out what career path to take as he got fired after just one day of interning at Cat Co. After some words of encouragement, Mon-El joins the fight against Parasite, but by revealing himself, the enemy kidnaps him at the end of the episode.

  • Monty

Providing he doesn’t disappear into the future I kinda hope they move Mon-El over to Legends after Invasion. Great episode though. But, damn, what happened with Alex was just brutal. I give it the exact same score.

Mon-El’s not going to be part of the crossover, just Supergirl.
