Supergirl Season 4 Casts Nicole Maines As Transgender Superhero Dreamer
DC and The CW’s Supergirl TV show has brought on a brand new superhero whose introduction will be a historic TV event.
While there are still so many examples of groups of people being misrepresented in pop culture, it seems that DC and The CW are trying to make a step in the right direction for the next season of Supergirl. The next season of the Mellissa Benoist-starring show will introduce the character of Nia Nal, aka Dreamer.
Supergirl has recruited Nicole Maines to take on to portray the character. Fans may know Maines from shows like Royal Pains and The Trans List. Fans may also be familiar with her story from the book Becoming Nicole.
Supergirl has also introduced two more actors for season 4. Jericho star April Parker Jones joins the upcoming season of Supergirl as Colonel Haley along with David Ajala as Manchester Black. Fans may notice Ajala from roles in Jupiter Ascending and Fast and Furious 6, he also had a very minor role in the 2008 superhero epic, The Dark Knight.
