A couple of weeks ago, TV Line revealed in an interview with Supergirl show-runner Andrew Kreisberg that James Olsen a.k.a. Guardian (played by Mehcad Brooks) would have a very big episode coming up towards the end of the second season. Today they revealed that This Is Us actor Lonnie Chavis has been cast in the role of Marcus who is described as a young alien boy that forms a bond with James when Marcus’ mother attacks the city.
It will be in the 20th episode titled “City of Lost Children” which is set to air on Monday, May 8. TV Line teases that the episode will feature James at a crossroads with his double-life as a vigilante while also working as acting CEO of CatCo. David Harewood, who plays Martian Manhunter on the show, talked about how J’onn will help James with these struggles in a chat with TV Line.
“There’s a lovely moment that I have with Mehcad, about accepting who you are. James is reluctant to step in and help somebody, and I persuade him, as a hero, that sometimes you have to go against your own instincts and do something that’s right, as opposed to what you think might be right.”
