The CW announced today that Teri Hatcher has joined the cast of Supergirl for a recurring role. Hatcher, best known as Lois Lane from Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, will be playing a mysterious role that will lead to her becoming the big bad for Season 2. In a statement about the casting, Andrew Kreisberg, show-runner and executive producer, expressed his excitement for Hatcher joining the show.
“No offense to any of the wonderful actresses who have also played the part, but Teri Hatcher is my all time favorite Lois Lane. To have her come back to the SuperWorld in a completely different part is an unbelievable gift to me, Greg [Berlanti], and the fans.”
Dean Cain, who plays Jeremiah Danvers on the series, was Hatcher’s co-star on the beloved Superman series as he portrayed the Man of Steel. Will the two get to share a scene or two on this DC series? Only time will tell.
This won’t be the first time that Hatcher has been on a DC Comics show on The CW. Back in the final season of Smallville, Hatcher portrayed Lois Lane’s (played by Erica Durance) mother in videos that she had left behind for her daughter.
