An impressive new concept design depicts Taron Egerton replacing Hugh Jackman as Wolverine with the classic brown and black suit from the comics.
Australian actor Hugh Jackman is no longer Wolverine, making room for a much younger talent to take on the role when the X-Men hero is finally integrated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Dozens of names have been thrown out by fans, but one that keeps on coming up to take over the role of Wolverine is Kingsman star Taron Egerton. Since Hugh Jackman officially bid farewell to the role, Taron Egerton has been the number one name on the lips of fans and artists to become the next Wolverine.
There’s no saying if Taron Egerton will be our next Wolverine but some of our favorite artists have already imagined as Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine successor. Digital artist Bobby_Art recently took to Instagram to share a cool concept that imagines Taron Egerton taking on the role of Wolverine with the brown and black suit from the comics. The brown and black suit was a look that we never got to see Hugh Jackman embrace in 20th Century Fox’s X-Men movies, so here’s hoping Taron Egerton gets the chance to do if he plays the character for Marvel Studios. You can see Taron Egerton in the brown and black Wolverine suit replacing Hugh Jackman below.

Alright bub, here’s a second variant of my take on Wolverine in the mcu played by @taron.egerton. This time, I based the color scheme of the brown and black scheme Logan has in the comics occasionally. I gotta say bub, I prefer this color scheme over the yellow and blue one as this one looks more badass and looks like it would fit the MCU more. Tell me which you like more. – – – – – – – #wolverine #taronegerton #taronegertonedit #taronegertonedits #xmen #hughjackman #bub #marvel #marvelcomics #mcu #marvelcinematicuniverse #deadpool #spiderman #spiderverse #professorx #mutants #phase4 #phase5 #marvelcinematic #comics #comicbookart #comicbook #marvelcomicbooks #comicbooks #avengers #magneto #doctorstrange #photoshop #multiverse #spidermanfarfromhome @looper @comicbook @comicbookresources @screenrant @heroichollywood
The costume above is similar to the classic yellow and black Wolverine suit. The brown coloring really makes Taron Egerton’s Wolverine look quite menacing. We never got to see Hugh Jackman rock the classic Wolverine suit, so it would certainly be a delight to see the original suit on the big screen at some point. Nothing is confirmed regarding Taron Egerton’s casting as Wolverine but he’s certainly one of the top choices to replace Hugh Jackman in the minds of fans.
Do you want Taron Egerton to play Wolverine? Are you sad to see Hugh Jackman leave the role behind? Sound-off in the comments section!
Marvel Studios confirmed plans to include mutants in the Marvel Cinematic Universe during its 2019 San Diego Comic-Con presentation. However, the studio is reportedly in no rush to introduce the X-Men to the MCU, meaning it will likely be some time before we learn who will replace Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.
