New artwork depicts Kingsman star Taron Egerton as Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine successor for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Australian actor Hugh Jackman played Wolverine longer than anyone who has played another comic book character on the silver screen. Hugh Jackman hung up the claws after Logan and Disney and Marvel Studios are now in full control of Wolverine and the X-Men franchise. Many fans don’t think Marvel Studios will keep Wolverine on the sidelines for long. Hugh Jackman will be a tough act to follow for any actor, but fans think Kingsman star Taron Egerton might be up for the challenge.
Taron Egerton broke out with his role in 2014’s Kingsman: The Secret Service and earned a lot of critical acclaim this year for playing Elton John in the Dexter Fletcher-directed biopic Rocketman. Taron Egerton could be what Marvel Studios is looking for in a new Wolverine. Despite his 17 years as Wolverine, Hugh Jackman never sported the character’s classic costume from the comics. Given Marvel Studios’ track record, the next Wolverine may finally bring the comic book suit to the big screen. New art from digital artist “bobby_art” reveals how great the yellow Wolverine suit could look on Taron Egerton. You can see Taron Egerton as Wolverine in the artwork below.

Someone wanted me to make my version of Wolverine. I’m not sure why we never got a comic accurate suit for Hugh Jackman, I think it works here. @taron.egerton as Wolverine, bub. – – – – – – – – #wolverine #taronegerton #taronegertonedit #taronegertonedits #xmen #hughjackman #bub #marvel #marvelcomics #mcu #marvelcinematicuniverse #deadpool #gambit #nightcrawler #professorx #mutants #phase4 #phase5 #marvelcinematic #comics #comicbookart #comicbook #marvelcomicbooks #comicbooks #avengers #magneto #doctorstrange #photoshop #multiverse #spidermanfarfromhome @looper @comicbook @comicbookresources @screenrant @heroichollywood
