Screenwriter Billy Ray Hired On To Rewrite Sixth ‘Terminator’ Film

Terminator Tim MillerIt is being reported that Paramount and Skydance’s upcoming Terminator film will be undergoing rewrites by screenwriter Billy Ray.

The Wrap has learned that Ray has been hired on to rewrite the script for the sixth film in the Terminator franchise with Deadpool director Tim Miller still at the helm.

The forthcoming film will act as a continuation of the first two movies, picking up after the events of Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgement. The film will star Arnold Schwarzenegger returning as the title role along with Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor and will introduce a brand new cast of characters.

Directed by Tim Miller (Deadpool), the next Terminator film will feature Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton both reprising their roles from the first two Terminator films, which were directed by James Cameron, who will return to produce. The film is said to be a direct sequel to 1991’s Terminator 2: Judgment Day (ignoring all of the other sequels), with a young woman in the lead role. A writer’s room has been assembled to plot out a new trilogy of Terminator films and includes David S. Goyer, Charles Eglee, Josh Friedman and Justin Rhodes.

The sixth Terminator film is scheduled to hit theaters on July 26, 2019.
