‘The Flash’: Kevin Smith Talks The Killer Frost Kiss

the-flash-killer-frost-kissIn last night’s episode of The Flash, as Caitlin was channeling her inner Killer Frost, she gave Barry one cold kiss that is one of the character’s moves in the comics as she takes out an enemy. Filmmaker Kevin Smith, who directed last night’s episode, spoke with Entertainment Tonight about getting to have that comic moment in his episode last night and as you can tell below, he was incredibly excited about it.

“She gives [Barry] the f**king cold kiss! That they have done a zillion times, probably, in the comics with Killer Frost and it’s one of the first time I think it gets done [on screen] I was so happy that it was in my episode! For one brief moment, not only were we making an old issue of Flash, but we had this real Batman Returns kind of positioning where she’s kind of straddling on top of him like Catwoman was when she was kissing Batman on the roof with the mistletoe. So we’re homage-ing s**t left and right while doing one of the most classic Killer Frost moves in the comics: the cold kiss.”

The Flash Season 3 airs on Tuesday nights at 8/7c on The CW. Make sure to check back at Heroic Hollywood after every single episode of Season 3 for our weekly reviews.

Is it just me or did caitlin snow turn evil just a bit WAY TOO FAST??

    • Radar Technician Matt

I thought that too at first… But if you think about it, her evil side comes from her using her powers, even for a bit, which is kinda ridiculous but that’s comic book logic I guess.

      • henryducard

Ya but with that logic Barry, wally, Cisco, and Jessie should all be evil too.

        • Radar Technician Matt

Really now… That’s not that kind of logic at all. Her having these ice powers and using them, turned her into cold blooded person, and probably a murderer in the distant future. For her it’s like a split personality disorder. It’s a no brainer…

          • henryducard

So cold makes people evil… I always wondered about people from up north.

The way I interpret it is that it’s not the person that goes squirly, it’s their doppelganger that tries to take over. Kind of like how Magenta was taking over Frankie, and then she snapped out of it and Magenta went away.

During Flashpoint Caitlin wasn’t Killer Frost

        • Chris W

So how does alchemy give her powers. He awakens powers from alternate realities. Or did I misunderstand his MO?

          • Matias Gagliardone

As far as I know he awakens powers for people who had powers in Flashpoint, not from any alternate reality, but maybe I misunderstood it. Also Caitlin didn’t get her powers from Alchemy that was one of the things that changed post-Flashpoint

      • henryducard

Magenta wasn’t from Earth 2 she was from alternate earth 1 and caitlin snow is now alternate earth1 caitlin snow.

Caitlin snow didn’t get her powers from Draco Malloy haha! She already had them from the alternate timeline. Remember when Barry “fixed” the time line small things were still different. Caitlin having powers was one of those things. Dr alchemy never gave her anything she just hoped if he could give them to someone else he could take them from her.

          • Chris W

got it. Guess I just drew connections where there were none.
