‘The Flash’ Producer Reveals Supergirl’s Earth Number & More In New Crossover Featurette

supergirl-flashThe epic DC Weeks is continuing tonight on The CW with The Flash as the 4-show crossover between it, Supergirl, Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow features our heroes battling the Dominators. The network released a new “Inside” featurette with executive producer Todd Helbing as he previews tonight’s episode as part two of the crossover. In it, he reveals something quite significant about Supergirl’s Earth as her world is officially labeled as Earth-38 in the Multiverse.

In the comics, Earth-38 is similar to Earth-Prime, so time passes in the same pace in these two Earths. Heroes age normally and eventually pass their mantles on to their children or successors all the way into the 30th century. Earth-38 is featured in Volume 1 of The Multiversity Guidebook by writer Grant Morrison.

“The Flash |  “Invasion!”— (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (Content Rating TBD) (HDTV)

IT’S HEROES VS. ALIENS IN THIS EPIC CROSSOVER EVENT — When aliens called the Dominators attack Central City, Barry (Grant Gustin) speeds over to Star City to ask the Green Arrow (guest star Stephen Amell) for help in stopping them. Realizing the battle against the Dominators is bigger than they thought, they track down the Legends of Tomorrow, and Barry and Cisco (Carlos Valdes) create a breach to bring back a secret weapon – Supergirl (guest star Melissa Benoist). Once all of the super friends are assembled, they come up with a plan to attack but a shocking secret related to Flashpoint is revealed and suddenly no one is sure who they can trust. Meanwhile, Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) wants to join the battle against the aliens but Iris (Candice Patton) tells him he’s not ready. Dermott Downs directed the episode with story by Greg Berlanti & Andrew Kreisberg and teleplay by Aaron Helbing & Todd Helbing (#308). Original airdate 11/29/2016.”

Time passes at the same pace? Then why did it seem like Barry got back to Earth Prime seconds after he left and no one at Star Labs even noticed that he’d been gone, when he spent hours on Kara’s Earth?

    • whatchel

He went back to his Earth to the same point in time that he had left.

      • SAMURAI36

Precisely. That’s an issue with the transit, not the time taking place on both worlds.

        • Vegas82

If we wanted to get really picky he travelled to Supergirl’s world weeks after he showed up there with the way the episodes aired. That was logistics and not intentional, but it still bugs me.

      • Marysocontrary

So Kara threw him back in time when she helped him get home? Uh…no.

I’m certain that Earth-38 on the CW shows has about as much in common with the Multiversity version of that world as Jay Garrick’s Earth-3 does with its own counterpart…ie…nothing at all.

I love these multi universe stories :)
