[DISCLAIMER: This article features a major spoiler from tonight’s episode of The Flash – Season 3, Episode 6, “Shade” – Read At Own Risk]
The Flash returned tonight from its mini-hiatus for its sixth episode of the third season titled “Shade” which focused heavily on Wally West. However there was a big surprise in store for viewers of the Fastest Man Alive.
While we have been seeing plenty of Doctor Alchemy, one of the big bads of Season 3, tonight marked the big debut of the villainous speedster, Savitar.
At the end of the episode, as Barry and the team tried to stop Alchemy, Savitar shows up and grabs Barry, introducing himself. Savitar is depicted as a big and monster-looking speedster with a white speed color.
In the comic books, Savitar is one of the many speedster villains, with him naming himself after the Hindu God, Savitr, the “god of motion”. His most significant appearance in the DC lore were in the storylines “Dead Heat” and “The Flash Rebirth”.
“WALLY HAS VISIONS OF BEING KID FLASH — When Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) starts having dreams about being Kid Flash, Barry (Grant Gustin) realizes he has to tell Wally, Iris (Candice Patton) and Joe (Jesse L. Martin) about what happened to Wally in Flashpoint in order to keep him safe. JJ Makaro directed the episode written by Emily Silver & David Kob (#306). Original airdate 11/15/2016.”
The Flash Season 3 airs on Tuesday nights at 8/7c on The CW. Make sure to check back at Heroic Hollywood after every single episode of Season 3 for our weekly reviews.
