The D23 and San Diego Comic-Con footage for Avengers: Infinity War offered audiences a preview of the first meeting between Thor and the Guardians of the Galaxy. However, fans may not have to wait until the ensemble superhero film arrives in theaters to see the cosmic heroes unite. ComicBook.com reports that Thor: Ragnarok concept suggests that the third installment of the titular hero’s standalone series could feature an appearance by the Guardians of the Galaxy.
The outlet reports that during a set visit for Thor: Ragnarok, one of the concept illustrations that was on display featured Star-Lord’s ship the Milano. When asked if there was a reason for the Milano illustration being included among the artwork, unit publicist Ernie Malik replied, “Yes, there is a reason for it to be there, yes.” Then, Malik reportedly focused on Doctor Strange’s role in the upcoming film.
Also included among the artwork was a piece featuring the Broker from the first Guardians of the Galaxy film. Fans will remember the Broker as the character who intended to purchase the Orb from Star-Lord before terminating their arrangement upon learning that Ronan the Accuser was also seeking the object. Of course, Ronan was initially seeking the Orb on behalf of Thanos, who will be lead villain in Avengers: Infinity War.
Chris Hemsworth has previously hinted that Thor: Ragnarok will set up the God of Thunder’s meeting with the Guardians and executive producer Brad Winderbaum added:
“There are elements of Guardians that will kind of work their way into our film, both stylistically and narratively. In the sense that all the Earth-bound heroes feel like they’re living and breathing in the same air, certainly now that we’re in space, it feels in a very MCU way that we’re living and breathing in the same air as the Guardians.”

5 Reasons We’re Excited For ‘Thor: Ragnarok’
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is out on home media and Spider-Man: Homecoming has been playing in theaters for a while now, so it’s time to look forward to the next Marvel movies, the first being Thor: Ragnarok.
The trailer for the film is incredible. The vibe, the action, the set-design, the soundtrack, every element of the trailer screams, “This is a different kind of Thor movie.”
And that’s exactly what we need. Thor: The Dark World was the most easily forgettable Marvel sequel, only distinguishable from the original for its use of fan-favorite villain Loki. Thor: Ragnarok looks poised to switch up the formula, seeming more like a fun intergalactic romp than a brooding space epic.
Judging from the trailer and other positive buzz, there’s plenty of cause to be excited for Thor: Ragnarok. Here are the 5 reasons why. Click next to get started!
