That’s the rumor at least. According to a new report from Devin Faraci of Birth.Movies.Death, it looks like the God Of Thunder might be heading in a darker direction than in his last two solo films. The site states that the reason director Taika Waititi was brought on board to helm Thor: Ragnarok to bring a lighter touch to Christopher Yost’s script, which is said to have an “apocalyptic vibe“. Fingers crossed we aren’t taking it too light though.
Also contained within the report is a cool little piece of information if it turns out to be true. It seems that Thor: Ragnarok will introduce the group called the Valkyries into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The inclusion of this group will lead to the fan-favorite Valkyrie making her way into the Thor series and possibly also introduce a character that fans have been waiting for quite some time: The Enchantress. We’ve already met The Enchantress’ sister Lorelei on Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D., so it really was just a matter of time until this character made her way into the MCU. While Faraci is “less certain” about these plot points, he does state that Marvel is “looking to cast some great women in this movie”. Guess we will have to wait and see on this one. Thor: Ragnarok is set to hit theaters November 3, 2017.
