The premiere for Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok was held last night and director James Gunn has shared his reaction to film in a post on his official Facebook page.
The Guardians of the Galaxy director praised the film as the funniest entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and commended director Taika Waititi for capturing the spirit of 80s classics:
“I don’t think any film of the modern era has captured the batshit crazy fun of 80’s classics like Flash Gordon and Buckaroo Banzai as well as Taika Waititi has here. I felt like I was fourteen watching a magical VHS tape that exploded into something grand. It’s the most colorful of all Marvel films — I mean, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is practically sepia-tone in comparison — and it’s also the funniest.”
Gunn also applauded the cast and stated the film’s depiction of the Incredible Hulk was the best of any interpretation on film and in the comics. You can read James Gunn’s full review in the post below!

5 Thor Stories That Should Be Used For Future Marvel Movies
After those amazing Thor: Ragnarok trailers, everyone’s talking about Odinson. This looks like a fun movie, and it makes me excited for where they might take Thor in the future. After Avengers: Infinity War, Thor is fair game for Marvel Studios (and hopefully Taika Waititi again) to do whatever they want with him.
There are some amazing Thor stories in the Marvel catalog for them to take inspiration from. I think that’s pretty key at this point, for them to just take inspiration from these stories and not follow the plot 100 percent. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is just too different compared to the Marvel Comics line, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t some amazing stories the movies could emulate.
So here are five Thor stories that should be used for future movies. Hit Next to find out more!
