Thor: Ragnarok, the third entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Thor series, is now officially certified fresh at 98% on Rotten Tomatoes. This makes Ragnarok the highest rated Thor movie on the site yet. Thor is currently rated 77%, while its 2013 sequel, Thor: The Dark World, is rated 66%. Director Taika Waititi’s bold new approach, placing the God of Thunder in a more cosmic setting and injecting a more humorous tone into the film, has clearly paid off! The larger cast of heroes may have also had a helping hand in the film’s high rating.
The critical consensus for the film, which sees Chris Hemsworth’s Thor teaming up with the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Loki (Tom Hiddleston), and newcomer Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), reads:
“Exciting, funny, and above all fun, Thor: Ragnarok is a colorful cosmic adventure that sets a new standard for its franchise — and the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”

5 Marvel Supporting Characters Who Need To Join The ‘Thor’ World
Now that Thor: Ragnarok is behind us, it’s time for fans to start speculating about where the God of Thunder is likely to go next! As things continue to change for Thor moving forward, it’s only fitting that the world around him starts to expand. Ragnarok is introducing newcomers Hela and Skurge to the Marvel Cinematic Universe family, but there’s always room for more expansion.
Thor has a rich group of supporting characters that have either gone on adventures with him or faced him on the battlefield. Some of Thor’s main companions, like Lady Sif and the Warriors Three, have already been introduced and become fan-favorite characters for MCU viewers. Given that Marvel Studios seems to like shaking things up, it seems likely that some of Thor’s lesser-known acquaintances will end up on the big screen soon enough.
