‘Thor: Ragnarok’ Director Taika Waititi Played The Hulk In Some Scenes

Hulk-Thor-Ragnarok-MarvelThor: Ragnarok will reunite the God of Thunder and Bruce Banner/The Incredible Hulk for a thrilling cosmic adventure. While Mark Ruffalo will return to play Banner and his alter-ego, the actor is not the only person who portrayed the Green Goliath in the upcoming film. In an interview with Collider, director Taika Waititi revealed that he played The Hulk in certain scenes when Mark Ruffalo was unavailable.

Waititi revealed the news while discussing his role as Korg and explained why he opted to perform as The Hulk himself:

“I’m playing one of the Planet Hulk characters: Korg, who’s a Kronan and a bit bigger than me.  It’s all mo-cap. And often, since Mark [Ruffalo’s] no longer here, I’ll often jump in for Hulk’s stuff.  We have stand-ins, but they’re not actors and they don’t have timing so I’ll jump in for those things.”

The news may not be entirely surprising to fans of Waititi as the director has made appearances in every one of his feature films.

In Marvel Studios’ “Thor: Ragnarok“, Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok – the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization – at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladictorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger – the Incredible Hulk!

Directed by Taika Waititi, the film stars Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Cate Blanchett, Idris Elba, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson,  Karl Urban, Mark Ruffalo and Anthony Hopkins.

Thor: Ragnarok will be released in theaters on November 3, 2017.

5 Thor Stories That Should Be Used For Future Marvel Movies

Previous1 of 6

Chris Hemsworth Thor MarvelAfter those amazing Thor: Ragnarok trailers, everyone’s talking about Odinson. This looks like a fun movie, and it makes me excited for where they might take Thor in the future. After Avengers: Infinity War, Thor is fair game for Marvel Studios (and hopefully Taika Waititi again) to do whatever they want with him.

There are some amazing Thor stories in the Marvel catalog for them to take inspiration from. I think that’s pretty key at this point, for them to just take inspiration from these stories and not follow the plot 100 percent. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is just too different compared to the Marvel Comics line, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t some amazing stories the movies could emulate.

So here are five Thor stories that should be used for future movies. Hit Next to find out more!
