New ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ TV Spot Settles Debate Over Strongest Avenger

A new TV spot for 'Thor: Ragnarok' keeps the banter between Thor and Bruce Banner coming — this time answering an age-old fanboy question.

As its release date approaches, marketing for Thor: Ragnarok is starting to ramp up. With the social media embargo having already been lifted less than a week ago, now these TV Spots and trailers are representing those first reactions of the film itself — and so far, it confirms the hilarity.

In a new clip released Friday, Thor is seen attempting to access what appears to be the Avengers aircraft which carried off Hulk in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Last we saw of it, Hulk was giving a heartbreaking (I didn’t cry, you did) farewell to Black Widow. That was also the last we saw of Hulk in the MCU.

This scene played out a bit differently, with Thor’s ego showing after each failed attempt to access the cockpit. That’s when Bruce Banner steps in to give fans the answer to the very popular fanboy question: Who is the strongest Avenger? You can check out the clip below:

Now there may be a bit of bias involved seeing as how Tony Stark probably added that access code in. That aside, Thor growing frustrated with cuts of various action scenes thrown in before getting the punchline seems like the perfect way to market the film if those Twitter reactions are any indication.

With Thor: Ragnarok having long been described as a buddy movie, the banter between Thor and Hulk/Bruce seems to be a big selling point of the film — that and the action of course. How many times can you see Hulk leaping at a giant Surtur before getting bored? Apparently not enough.

Directed by Taika Waititi, the film stars Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Cate Blanchett, Idris Elba, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson,  Karl Urban, Mark Ruffalo and Anthony Hopkins.

Imprisoned on the other side of the universe, the mighty Thor (Chris Hemsworth) finds himself in a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), his former ally and fellow Avenger. Thor’s quest for survival leads him in a race against time to prevent the all-powerful Hela (Cate Blanchett) from destroying his home world and the Asgardian civilization.

Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters Nov. 3. Stay tuned for the latest news on the Marvel Studios movie!
