New artwork depicts Call Me by Your Name and Dune star Timothee Chalamet as the Dick Grayson version of Robin for The Batman.
We know that The Batman will include some of the titular hero’s most iconic allies like Alfred Pennyworth and Commissioner Gordon. However, there’s been no word on if the upcoming DC Comics movie will feature the cinematic return of Robin. While Dick Grayson and Jason Todd can currently be seen on DC Universe’s Titans, Robin hasn’t been in a movie since 1997’s Batman & Robin.
One of the tricky parts about bringing Robin into live-action is portraying him at the right age. Many believe Chris O’Donnell’s Dick Grayson was too old. Timothee Chalamet is 24-years old and could still portray a high school student who needs a parental guardian in Bruce Wayne, with The Batman star Robert Pattinson being nine years older. Only time will tell on whether Robin will make an appearance in Matt Reeves’ Batman trilogy, but this artwork by Dalton Barrett shows off why Chalamet should play the fan-favorite character.
What do you think of this concept design featuring Timothee Chalamet? How old do you think Robin should be if he appears in Matt Reeves’ Batman trilogy? Let us know in the comments!
Full plot details on The Batman are being kept under lock and key, but we know that the film will center around a younger Bruce Wayne and feature a Rogues’ Gallery of villains that includes Catwoman, The Penguin, and The Riddler. Following the Dark Knight during his formative years as Gotham City’s protector, The Batman will also make use of the hero’s detective skills to a greater extent than previous live-action adaptations. It is expected to be the first chapter in a new Batman trilogy with Robert Pattinson.
The Batman is currently set to open in theaters on October 1, 2021. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding Timothee Chalamet and The Batman, and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel!
