Todd McFarlane Explains Why He’s So Coy About ‘Spawn’ Reboot Updates

jason-blum-spawn-superhero-movieSpawn creator Todd McFarlane recently explained why he’s staying so vague about updates regarding his upcoming Spawn reboot.

The Spawn reboot has been in the works for years but the film is now seemingly closer to production than ever. In a world where so many projects are developed and canceled and revived at the drop of a hat, it makes sense for someone like McFarlane to keep info on the film close to the chest. While speaking with, this what McFarlane had to say about keeping Spawn info hush-hush.

“If because of an actor’s schedule, we got to move [the release date] or if for whatever reason, the shot takes a little longer, we got to move it. Then if you say too specifically what the day you give them, be a week or two weeks, then all of a sudden you’ll read an article somewhere, and people say, ‘It’s a troubled production! Troubled, troubled production!'”

Considering that incidents like that happen all the time with comic book movies, it’s a pretty smart approach that McFarlane is taking. He then explained when he’ll be willing to share more information about the project:

“I’ll be sharing some of the information, especially while I’m filming.”

We’ll make sure to keep you updated on all Spawn news when the project begins production.

Are you glad that McFarlane is keeping Spawn info under wraps until the cameras start rolling? Let us know in the comments below!

Produced under Jason Blum’s Blumhouse Productions, the Spawn reboot will star Jamie Foxx. The film does not yet have a release date.

OR he has no idea what he’s doing and is making a crappy version of the movie that he knows only he and a couple of his friends will like… I’m not bitter though.
