Gotham writer Todd Stashwick has announced he is co-writing the upcoming Suicide Squad sequel with Gavin O’Connor (Warrior).
Stashwick made the announcement on today’s episode of DC Movie News on Popcorn Talk and will be co-writing the script with O’Connor who will co-write and direct Suicide Squad 2. Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, and Will Smith have already been confirmed to be returning for the sequel. Production on the project is expected to begin in October 2018 in Toronto.
Plot details remain under wraps, however, the story will reportedly center on the supervillain team’s mission to find a terrifying new Weapon of Mass Destruction that happens to be Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam.
Suicide Squad 2 is one of the many projects Warner Bros. has in development along with The Batman, a Flash standalone film, Birds of Prey The New Gods, Man of Steel 2, Nightwing, Cyborg, Gotham City Sirens, Green Lantern Corps, Black Adam, Booster Gold, Justice League Dark, and a standalone Joker origin film separate from the shared cinematic universe.
