Tom Hardy is among several fan favorites to replace Hugh Jackman in the role. Dark Phoenix director and longtime X-Men film writer Simon Kinberg said both Tom Hardy and Richard Madden are his favorites to play the iconic X-Men character.

Hugh Jackman played Wolverine from 2000 to 2017 and holds the Guinness World Record for longest career as a live-action Marvel superhero.
