‘Tomb Raider’: Alicia Vikander Would Be ‘Privileged’ To Return For A Sequel

Tomb Raider K. Flay Run For Your LifeTomb Raider is gearing up for release this weekend, and with it comes Warner Bros.’ hope of turning the property into its next big franchise. One person who would love to come back if given the chance is Lara Croft herself, Alicia Vikander.

Vikander spoke to ET Canada at the red carpet premiere for Tomb Raider, where she was asked if she’d be willing to reprise the role of the iconic video game character, to which the actress responded with an enthusiastic “yes”:

“It’s with the audience. If they want to see another adventure, if they have the hunger for it, then I would be privileged to be back. I’ve never really had the chance revisit a part, so if that were to happen, it would be amazing.”

With Vikander willing to come back, it’s now up to the movie to perform well enough to warrant a sequel. The movie has a reported $90 million+ budget, and review embargos are being lifted on Wednesday, so it’s too early to say if Tomb Raider has a shot at being a hit, but we should be getting a clearer picture towards the end of the week.

Seven years after the disappearance of her father, 21-year-old Lara has refused to take the reins of his global business empire, instead working as a bike courier in London while taking college classes. Eventually she becomes inspired to investigate her father’s disappearance and travels to his last-known location: a tomb on an island somewhere off the coast of Japan. Suddenly, the stakes couldn’t be higher for Lara, who—against the odds and armed with only her sharp mind, blind faith and inherently stubborn spirit—must learn to push herself beyond her limits as she journeys into the unknown. If she survives this perilous adventure, it could be the making of her, earning her the name Tomb Raider.

Directed by Roar Uthaug and written by Geneva Robertson-Dworet, Tomb Raider also stars Walton Goggins, Hannah John-Kamen, Daniel Wu, and Dominic West as Richard Croft.

Tomb Raider will be released in theaters on March 16, 2018.

10 C-List Justice League Members You Should Know About

Previous1 of 11

Justice League C List MembersThere are a few core iterations of the Justice League that most fans know. No matter what team fans are looking at, odds are Batman, Superman and some kind of Green Lantern are on the team. The movie version has five founding members and the comics’ has seven, but there are so many more superheroes who have been a part of the Justice League than that.

No matter how long or short someone’s stint is with the team, being a member of the team solidifies them as a true hero. These heroes have fought both street-level and world-threatening villains without blinking an eye. Fighting supervillains is just a part of the job for these members of the Justice League. As the team is set to go through a transformation in the comics under the supervision of writer Scott Snyder, it seems like a good time to look at some of the lesser-known heroes who have been members of the crimefighting team.
