The Top 25 Superhero Movie Moments Of 2016

superhero

In a relatively brief period of time, superhero movies have become the mainstream mythology of big box office blockbusters, to the point where we have enough of these movies across multiple genres and studios to rank them by their moments, not just a given film being better than the other (though we still did a list for that, too).

This achievement is a long time coming, as far as I’m concerned, and even though I wasn’t the biggest fan of every movie discussed here, just about every single offering from Warner Bros., Marvel, and Fox delivered plenty of great content for us to celebrate, with only a few exceptions.

In fact, the only 2016 superhero movies that don’t end up on this list are outliers like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, which doesn’t quite meet the right criteria, and Max Steel, whose shortcomings are probably obvious at this point.

For the rest, here are the top superhero moments of the year, starting with…

I write and I know things.

  • Maxi Iroh

This is one good list. Maybe i would’ve put Giant-Man a bit higher.

  • Nightwing

Great list, Batman warehouse scene deserves that number 1, and is perfectly described. Although there’s a lot of Dr. Strange on this list, haven’t seen that one yet, it might be worth the spots.

    • Carl

No. It’s just the only good action scene in an awful movie. It’s extremely flawed too but looked kinda cool, even though we already saw most of it in the trailers.

      • Nightwing

Well, Carl, thats your opinion, and this is mine. Deal with it, no need for you to comment something negative every time someone mentions they enjoyed a DC movie.

        • Carl

I see the need to counter it. You can have your opinion but you’re wrong. lol

P.S. It’s only DCEU stuff I dislike. The TV stuff is good.

          • Nightwing

I can have an opinion but I’m wrong.. See, this is how ignorant you really are, just because my opinion isn’t the same as yours it’s wrong. I love marvel as well, but seeing how most of their fans are as idiotic as you are, I’m starting to question some things.. And from your comment calling this a garbage list, why, because your precious Civil War isn’t on the number one spot? God forbid that people have a different opinion than you.

          • Carl

Like I said, you’re wrong. BvS and just about everything in it is bad film. No single moment in it deserves to be ranked higher than anything in Civil War, Deadpool or Dr. Strange. You can like it all you want but that doesn’t make it good. lol 😉

P.S. You DCEU fans get so testy. Just admit that’s it’s bad. It’s ok if you like a bad movie.

          • Nightwing

“You can like it all you want but that doesn’t make it good.” Same can be said just about any marvel movie.

          • Nightwing

Well, BvS had some problems, Squad I didn’t like, but most of them were solved in the ultimate cut, everything felt more polished and generally better. There were scenes where people like you turned off their brain, and went to see the movie thinking it’s gonna be like marvel’s kid friendly movies. I loved that movie, I don’t care if someone deems the movie bad or not, I liked it.

That said, I’m not the guy going around putting others down because my opinion of something is different. That’s you. Think about just how ignorant you sound. People aren’t gonna take you seriously around these parts.

As for CW, that movie had a lot of issues. I can address some of them for you, Zemo’s plan revolved completely around coincidence, the security footage of WS killing Stark’s parents in the middle of nowhere on some random tree, even WS shot it afterwards.

How did it survive till the present day? And the final showdown, Zemo couldn’t have possible known IM was gonna follow Cap, if he didn’t there would be no fight. Then you have Zemo’s big plan of making avengers fight themselves, by the time his plan is in motion, they’re already tearing each other over the Sokovia accords.

The government called the Avengers to answer to them, that same government wanted to nuke NYC with all the people in it to stop some aliens. It’s Incredibly hypocritical how they can’t handle Avengers doing damage when they themselves wanted to nuke the city out of existence.

Then, you have the Stark killing some random student in Sokovia, and his mom having a talk with him. What does he decide to do? Recruit a kid to fight a bonafide superhero team.

I could go on and on, but I’ll stop right now, it’s probably too much for your tiny brain too handle.

          • Carl

Did I put you down? I just said that you’re wrong about BvS. Also the Ultimate Cut solved none of the movie’s glaring issues. Suicide Squad is a worse movie though.

    • Kelly

The warehouse fight was, without a doubt, the best fight scene in a CBM this year.

Why is there so much Dr. Iron Man on the list? It’s taking a spot from Civil War’s airport fight.

    • Carl

Never heard of Dr. Iron Man. There are lots of Dr. Strange moments because it was a great movie. 😉 The Civil War Airport fight scene should be #1 on this list. See my ranking below. :)

  • That was a fun list. Not saying these are “the best” (objectively) but rather the ones the I personally enjoy most for my own reasons:

    1) Batman warehouse
    2) Trinity united in BvS (followed by Wondy’s leap into battle)
    3) Batman vs. Superman battle
    4) Peter Quill playing mix tape at beginning of GotG
    5) Tony Stark in Iron Man, press conference at the end: “[wtf…]… I am Iron Man.”
    6) Hulk thrashes Loki: “Puny god.” (Loki wheeze.)
    7) Magneto kills Nazis with a coin in First Class
    8) Cap elevator scene in WS
    9) Cap to Bucky in WS: “I’m not going to fight you. Because I’m with you. To the end of the line.”
    10) Black Widow utterly destroys her interrogators in The Avengers

    • Matias Gagliardone

      The list is only 2016

      • Ack, oops. Well there’s my all time list anyway.

  • Antonio

  • Darthmanwe

Best one for me this entire year is

“Is it sexist to hit you or not to hit you? I’m so confused.” by Deadpool.

While inserting a mag into his gun to finish his attacker off.
