“Years before the Superman legend we know, the House of El was shamed and ostracized. This series follows The Man of Steel’s grandfather as he brings hope and equality to Krypton, turning a planet in disarray into one worthy of giving birth to the greatest Super Hero ever known.”

Syfy’s Krypton, starring Cameron Cuffe (The Halcyon)  as Seg-El, Georgina Campbell (After Hours) as Lyta Zod, Ian McElhinney (Game of Thrones) as Val-El, Elliot Cowan (Da Vinci’s Demons) as Daron Vex, Ann Ogbomo (Wonder Woman) as Primus Alura Zod, Rasmus Hardiker (Your Highness) as Kem, Wallis Day (The Royals) as Nyssa Vex and Aaron Pierre (Britannia) as Dev-Em, will premiere in the 2017-2018 TV Season.

The project, which is being produced by Warner Horizon Television, comes from executive producers David S. Goyer (Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, The Dark Knight trilogy), Damian Kindler (Sleepy Hollow), Colm McCarthy (Peaky Blinders). Goyer and Ian Goldberg (Once Upon a Time) wrote the pilot which was directed by McCarthy.

10 Defining Quotes From The DC Extended Universe

Previous1 of 11

DC Extended UniverseEarlier this week, we here at Heroic Hollywood gave the 20 defining quotes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Not to be outdone, we also wanted to take a look at the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) and some of the best dialogue/monologues within their films that have so far helped shape their cinematic universe.

Now keep in mind, the DCEU is still in its sophomoric phase. There are only three films in the can — Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad — so we’re going to try our best and refrain from the usual “Marvel vs DC” trope. The films in the DC Extended Universe have their share of highlights and great moments that do a great job at bringing some of our all-time favorite comic book characters to the big screen (and even introducing us to new ones). This list will be strictly for the DCEU, and not feature unconnected films or DC TV shows (Sorry animated movies, Nolan-verse, Arrow-verse and Gotham, maybe we’ll take a look at those as well).

Here are a few of the top DC Extended Universe quotes. Click Next to see…

Yes, so much Yes. I hope pickup announcement and airdate comes soon.

  • Darthmanwe

hmmm. I’m getting The Expanse vibes.

    Not bad.

  • Philly Gannon

    will this be connected t…..anything?

    • ArtimusGG

Not sure, but the Superman S design and also the black Superman S device are from Man of Steel. I’m assuming it is part of the DCEU.

      • Big Money Destiny Prime

they have said that the DCEU is strictly movies only, so this won’t be apart of that.

It won’t be apart of the Arrow/Flash/Supergirl-verse, the CW-verse (the hint is in the name)

So my guess is that its not directly connected to anything, but it’s supposed to be a loose prequel to Superman in general (they will likely take creative liberties, because the comics don’t really delve that deep into the history of Krypton pre-Jor-El (Superman’s father)

      • Philly Gannon

hope so, but DC hardly ever connects anything, claiming “artistic freedom”, a.k.a. laziness…even their animated movies don’t connect properly like they used to.

    • Lee Hounshell

yes. turns out the explosion is directly connected to climate change on the planet.

  • Wow, does this look awful and unnecessary. I have no hope for this based on it being on SyFy, and from the writer of the dreadful Man of Steel. And how many people were actually clamoring for a TV show about the non-superpowered people of Krypton? All those heroes and villains DC has, and they do a Superman prequel?

  • David Curry

    Looks good!

  • The_Last_Ride

    YES

  • Podd Socks

this looks exactly like what podd socks podcast (www.poddsocks.com) predicted. amazing foresight. the show looks good too.

I don’t know… I mean. I guess it could be good.. Just like Gotham where you know Wayne is bound to become Batman, Krypton is bound to explode. So, the question at this point is whether or not they can get creative enough to make this an interesting show. I mean sure, there are lots of Superman origin stories, but there were very few Superman related issues which truly discussed past Krypton history. Not to say there wasn’t any, I do recall many years ago in what would be considered the Silver Age Superman stories of Krypton’s past and ancestors, I think it was linked to some form of bacteria from Krypton and Superman was dreaming of one of his ancestors. Man it’s been a long time. Anyways, Krypton as a show as a big blank slate to work from. Hopefully, they have crafted a well thought show. I hope it doesn’t look to the latest ‘Man of Steel’ fiasco for Krypton’s history. That movie had more plot holes than a pasta strainer.

They have lost their heads cimpletely. First they make awful movies like man of steel and batman vs superman and now this
