As we already know, Paramount is shelling out big money to advertise their movies in front of Super Bowl LI. Unsurprisingly, the first one is for Transformers: The Last Knight, but more interesting is that the other film they’re going to promote is Ghost In The Shell.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Paramount has confirmed that the fifth Transformers movie will be shown during one of the game’s many time-outs. Just before the game, however, will be the first big TV Spot for Ghost In The Shell, a live-action adaptation of the anime franchise of the same name.
In addition to Paramount, Disney, Twentieth Century Fox, Sony Pictures, and Universal all have ads booked for just before the big game or during it, while Warner Brothers is the only studio that has opted out on releasing a preview of any of their movies. Ads expected to be revealed during the pre-game and the game itself include Guardians Of The Galaxy Volume 2, Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, A Cure For Wellness, Logan, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and The Fate Of The Furious. Conversely, an ad for Star Wars: The Last Jedi is unlikely to appear due to the film’s release occurring over ten months after the game.
Ghost In The Shell hits theaters on March 31. Transformers: The Last Knight will be released on June 23.
