‘Transformers’ Sequels Get Release Dates

It looks like the Transformers franchise is about to become an annual event, as Paramount Pictures have just announced that the fifth installment of the lucrative franchise will open in theaters on June 23, 2017. It will be once again directed by Michael Bay, who helmed all four of the previous movies. Yes, there are four of them.

Then its sequel, Transformers 6, will hit theaters on June 8, 2018, and it will be followed up by one more sequel, which is scheduled to come out on June 28, 2019. While Bay has already confirmed that he will helm the fifth one —  which will begin filming this May —  it’s unclear whether or not he will be back for one more follow-up, even though he says he won’t.
