    Or just write about it?

  • Chris W

I don’t want to watch a 33 minute video to get information on the topic the title of the article said I would get.

    • alcatsar

      I agree. Timestamp please.

      • Seb

28:34, they’re waiting on a draft before shopping it round to directors.

        • Vegas82

You should work for the site. Much better job than what we get from these posts from a suppossed writer.

The phrase, “You the real MVP” comes to mind.

        • ScottyB608

          Very helpful. Thank you!

        • I know I’m 20 days late but thanks Seb!

  • Rick Boiter

You sir are the very definition of self aggrandizing.

Umberto, you seriously need to get some new hosts. These two dipsticks are terrible. They look like the typical, fat, balding fanboys, just wearing what looks to be your sport coats. Plus, they are SUPER negative about everything, and they don’t seem to even know alot about the various franchises (the ones that aren’t Marvel).

This show could be so much better, but just feels like a Marvel movie to me; all flash, no substance or impact.

    • QTN

El Mayimbe has known Alter for a long time. You realize when you trash them, that you’re trashing him as well right?
When DC fans have friends like Samurai, who needs enemies?

      • SAMURAI36

So what? I’m giving an honest critique of the show. And I have several friends, that I wouldn’t allow on a business endeavor with me.

And that comment about DC (which had absolutely NOTHING to do with this) was absolutely retarded.

        • JMMagwood

I just commented something similar to him, but I have to admit, you didn’t need to hit the guys on their looks.

          • SAMURAI36

Eh, what can I say… I’m pretty colorful.

But nonetheless, the differences in these guys (Umberto, & these 2 dudes) is night and day. Umberto comes off professional, objective, and pretty downright suave. These 2 come off as exactly the opposite, and it doesn’t help their case that they don’t look all that swell, especially compared to Umberto.

If the way these guys look don’t matter, then they could do a podcast, where it’s all audio. But it’s a video show, it painfully looks like Umberto dressed these guys at the last minute.

          • JMMagwood

I’d love to see what the script for “Shazam” is like. I’m very curious about the tone and approach. I wonder who’s on the short list for director considerations? I’d say Chris Colombus could definitely do justice, heh, to the material.

          • SAMURAI36

Me too, but I’m more excited to see who DC casts as Shazam, and Billy. And also Sivana.

          • JMMagwood

Same here. I’m hoping for a really great unknown. I wonder if we’re going to get Geoff Johns’ recent new origin, or if will we get the original story?

          • SAMURAI36

Yeah, I’m wanting the Geoff Johns version. And, an unknown would be really great as well. Someone, like Henry Cavill, who can own the role.

          • JMMagwood

Not a fan of the Johns reboot. In fact, I’m wondering (and kind of hoping) if Rebirth will get rid of it.

Agreed about the Cavill comments. I think he’s been great.

          • SAMURAI36

Not to burst your bubble or anything, but it looks like they might keep the Johns Shazam version in Rebirth, based on the pics that I’ve seen. At least, the costume design, anyway.

But yeah, Shazam is my absolute, all-time fave character, & I loved what they did for him in the New 52. And aw man, they even made the Wizard Black!! There were several tweaks that they did that I really appreciated.

Just curious though, what did you not like about it?

          • JMMagwood

Actually, what was done in the Darkseid War special was okay. I forgot about that. It seems like with that slight retcon, there’s a chance to have a more traditional version on the character.

          • SAMURAI36

I haven’t finished reading DSW yet, so I can’t quite comment on that. But what I’ve read so far was quite intriguing.

    • Marquis de Sade

      You need Jesus, young man!

    • Carl

You’re a jerk to everyone, huh?

Nice unwarranted Marvel dis, you threw in there too. So classy. Keep up the hate. :)

      • SAMURAI36

Oh, you noticed what I did there? BTW, those guys look like they’re both trying to outdo each other, in a Kevin Feige impersonation contest, with the sport coat they are wearing for no reason at all, that doesn’t even fit properly, over a faded comic book t-shirt, a pair of Chuck’s on, & their receding hairlines for accentuation.

I noticed it with the one guy in the first vid that Umberto did, but then they added the 2nd guy, who’s going for the exact same look.

Don’t hate the messenger, my son.

        • Carl

I’m hating the message you created, you aren’t the messenger.

          • SAMURAI36

Hate on, my son. Hate on…

          • Carl

            Just you.

  • JMMagwood

Good show. It went pretty fast, and for the most part it’s very engaging. I’ll watch it again. As far as some of the comments: I think ROM and the Spaceknights could be extremely cool on the big screen, IF done right. Same thing with Shazam. That could be a huge winner.

    • QTN

Yeah and a Batman/Superman should be a no-brainer billion dollar hit if done right. You are right, Shazam is a great movie property. But can they pull it off? Dear lord they have trouble dealing with Superman, so I don’t know.
And yes, ROM and Micronauts would both be great properties to tackle on film as part of a shared movie universe. The Marvel shared movie universe, that is.

      • JMMagwood

Um… Okay… You just attacked someone for having their opinion, and now it just seems like you’re here trolling.

  • xxjinzaxx

    I’ll be checking it out.

  • Monty

    worst guest commentator ever.

  • Boogie

Can someone type what was said in the video?

    • Thaddeus VonPumpernickel

@disqus_VUPGePmxdd:disqus above posted: “28:34, they’re waiting on a draft before shopping it round to directors.”

      • Boogie

        Thanks bro.

  • Boogie

Oh, the video covered more than just Shazam stuff? That’s cool. I thought it was a video for one scoop.

  • Maximillian Pegasus

    Armie Hammer for Captain Marvel.

  • Sergio Pimenta

well now that Channing Tatum leaves gambit, he could be shazam!

    • Carl

Yes! I’ve been saying that for a long time.

    • SAMURAI36

Tatum left Gambit? When did that happen?

      • Sergio Pimenta

sorry my mistake! He haven’t leave, is just a delay in gambit movie. But whit that ha have more time to do the shazam.

  • Tom Chambers

Do you guys do an audio or podcast version of this show? I’d much rather listen than watch.

Also, I can barely hear the audio on this without using earbuds. Would recommend upping the volume next time around. Through my PC speakers with the volume turned all the way up, I can barely hear you guys talking.

  • KaracterZero

I dunno, the hasbro shared universe might not be known to people but maybe that’s why it will be good. Think of Guardians of the Galaxy and Iron Man…Those really were b squad comic characters. Not well known at all, and I think that actually HELPED them be so accepted. A lot of people didn’t have ideas of what those characters SHOULD be and got to accept them for the first time. DC and Batman and Superman have a big hill to climb each time because there are fans of previous portrayals, and if those expectations aren’t met to be like the old ones they get rejected, even if they are good interesting takes on the character…a bit of anonymity is good for some of these properties…

    • SAMURAI36

Precisely. Thats why I thought those guys’ commented reeked of bias. There’s no way you can condemn these properties for being unknowns, while praising the MCU, 90% of which consists of unknowns.

Basically with them, it’s if it ain’t Marvel, they aint interested. And that kinda bias is only gonna hurt Umberto’s show in the long run. The pro-Marvel slant has already started to infect the site itself.

I have no probs with a site/show that covers everything, but when it starts to lean more in one direction over another, then it loses its uniqueness, & starts to become just like all the other sites & podcasts that are already out there.

    • Carl

That’s why BvS should have used the most common known portrayal as a base for its characters. Creating totally new portrayals that people didn’t like has hurt them.

      • KaracterZero

I don’t think they were “Totally new”…they come from some of the darker comics, but I think that was the point…they went a little darker to begin with, but I think since MOS, BvS and Justice League are playing like a trilogy we will see these characters evolve to their more knows iterations in the next film. Both of them changed by the end of BvS. Superman said “this is my world” before he attacked Doomsday, finally embracing that Earth is his world and he is it’s protector, and Batman gained Hope from that act and saw he had lost himself…shown by the “non branding” of luthor at the end and his comments to Wonder woman about rebuilding…I think that was the whole point…I really like that about their take on it…

        • SAMURAI36

Precisely. They are going with the “first there was darkness, then there was light” pathos, & despite what some folks like to say, it’s working quite well. Not to mention, as you stated, it gives them plenty of room to grow, as we saw from the end of BVS.

Like it or not, we’ve seen growth from MOS to BVS, & we’ll continue to see growth with each film.

        • Carl

Superman was raised on Earth by a good family, he is supposed to see it as his world from the start. Batman would never be branding people in the first place so choosing not to brand someone who really deserves it doesn’t work for me. I found that whole scene in the prison laughable because it didn’t seem plausible. In this gritty real world the crap with the lights and the guards just being gone would never happen.

          • SAMURAI36

What a small, myopic view of the DCU you seem to have.

A world where Superman has all these exotic powers, and is loved and accepted in spite of them is an unrealistic world.

And an angry, battle-weary Batman is not without precedent either.

And actually, stuff like that happens in prisons quite often (sans the Batman stuff). Prisons are extremely corrupt. How do you think they are able to sneak drugs in and out, and how people get killed in prisons?

          • KaracterZero

The whole point is that this Batman is Broken. A good man has become “Cruel”. It’s different take, we’ve see the regular Batman like 100 times in movies. This was the Dark Knight Rises Style Batman. He’s lost hope, he’s lost his belief that he can help. He and Alfred discuss this. Superman’s sacrifice inspired him, the “Martha” scene made him see that he’s become the thing he hates. He WASN’T Batman in this movie, he became Batman again at the end.

And if you don’t like the Superman story, I get it, but I do. He’s conflicted, isolated. He’s a borderline God, it’s hard to relate to people, the world hates him. It’s not that he’s sad they don’t like it, it’s that he’s worried he’s just making things worse and he wants to help, BECAUSE he was raised by a good family. That’s what I like. He may be all powerful, but he’s still just human emotionally and he’s dealing with who he is.

This was part 2 of a trilogy really “MOS, BvS, then Justice Leage.” This is a darkest before the Dawn type story, and the Dawn, I think will come in Justice League, he will become full fledged Superman, Earth’s protector. That’s how I see it. To each is own.

  • Rey

Dear Mr. Gonzalez, I really love this site and it is the first place I got to on a daily basis for scoops and news. Perhaps time stamps, or transcripts of the videos would be great. Thanks again for all your hard work sir.

  • The End…I Am

Shadam. This is a long video. In the end, may the movie rise. We need a Shazam.
