This season of Once Upon A Time has seen our heroes being forced to confront their past, with David/Charming even learning that the truth behind his father’s death may not be what he believed. Now it appears David will have to face another aspect of his past as EW reports that actor Alan Dale will reprise his role as King George in an upcoming episode of the series.
This year, The Evil Queen has dedicated herself to destroying the relationships between our heroes by exposing the secrets of their past and the return of King George will continue this theme.
“King George returns to cause trouble for Snow and Charming in an episode later this season that shines a new light on all of their pasts and has a profound impact on their futures,” say executive producers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz.
Fans will remember King George as David’s father-in-name only, who made a deal with Rumpelstiltskin to acquire an heir that resulted in David’s twin brother James being raised as King George’s son. However, when James died, David took his place as King George’s heir until the rebellious prince threw it all way to be with his true love, Snow White.
