Valiant Entertainment Finds A Director For ‘Bloodshot’

Valiant first announced their plans for film and television installments about two years ago. Ever since then, there has been a slow leak of news from this front, even though plans seem to be in flux. They are reportedly working on films for Bloodshot, X-O Manowar, Archer and Armstrong, and Harbinger, along with a digital mini-series featuring Ninjak (and most of the other characters listed). At Emerald City Comic Con this weekend, fans that attended the Valiant Entertainment panel have said that screenwriters Eric Heisserer and Dinesha Shamdasani confirmed that have tapped newcomer Dave Wilson to direct Bloodshot.

When the Valiant films were first announced, John Wick directors David Leitch and Chad Stahelski were set to helm the project. Since then Bloodshot has been pushed back for Harbinger. It’s unclear what happened to the directors because of this, but apparently they left the project, which made way for Dave Wilson to join.

Dave Wilson is certainly not a familiar name, but he has done a ton of visual effects work on films such as Avengers: Age of Ultron and Deadpool, and has directed a few video game trailers including Bioshock Infinite and Mass Effect 2.

Ex-Power Ranger Jason David Frank is playing Bloodshot in the upcoming Ninjak Vs. The Valiant Universe digital mini-series, but someone else will play the titular character for the feature films. If you’re unfamiliar with the character, just think if Wolverine’s healing factor was given to The Punisher. Yeah, he’s almost unstoppable.

Valiant will have a lot more to say about their feature films as 2017 continues on. Keep it locked onto Heroic Hollywood for any more information about Bloodshot and his various adversaries and compatriots at Valiant.
