‘Venom’: Riz Ahmed Playing Riot Symbiote; More Villains May Appear

Riz Ahmed Venom Riot SymbioteDuring the Venom Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con, it was revealed that actor Riz Ahmed is playing Riot in the upcoming film. Along with this confirmation, director Ruben Fleischer teased that there may or may not be more appearances by certain villains.

Riz Ahmed briefly described playing his character and hinted at what he brings to the story:

Plot details on the film are currently under wraps, though director Ruben Fleischer revealed that the film will be based on the Lethal Protector and Planet of the Symbiotes comic book runs. Whether or not Spider-Man – who played a significant role in both stories – will make an appearance remains unclear.

Directed by Ruben Fleischer, Venom stars Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Jenny Slate, Scott Haze and Woody Harrelson.

Venom will be released in theaters on October 5, 2018.
