New ‘Venom’ Set Photos Tease Possible Motorcycle Chase

Sony’s Spider-Man spinoff Venom has been in production for just over a month now, and photos of the filming have been making their way online. Currently filming in Atlanta, the next crop of pictures show what could be an action scene, as Venom’s alter ego, Eddie Brock, is riding a motorcycle that’s being lifted into the air by a harness with a nearby vehicle on fire.

Although it’s hard to make out, it appears Tom Hardy’s stunt double is performing the scene as opposed to the actor himself. Check out the tweet below!

With Tom Hardy set as Eddie Brock, the cast also includes Riz Ahmed, Michelle Williams, Jenny Slate, Reid Scott and Scott Haze. Woody Harrelson is in talks to join the film in an undisclosed role.

Ruben Fleischer is directing from a script by Scott Rosenberg, Jeff Pinkner, and Kelly Marcel. Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach and Amy Pascal are producing, with Palak Patel and Eric Fineman overseeing Venom for the studio. The project is currently knee-deep into production.

The film is completely separate from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and won’t feature Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. Sony’s plan is to launch a brand new cinematic universe featuring Venom and other Marvel characters, a plan the studio originally had for the Marc Webb-directed Amazing Spider-Man films. A Silver Sable and Black Cat film is also in the works from Beyond the Lights director Gina Prince-Bythewood.

Venom is currently slated to hit theaters on October 5, 2018.
