‘The Walking Dead’ Season Six Finale Extended

The Walking Dead

The season six finale of AMC’s The Walking Dead has been extended from an hour to 90 minutes.

As previously reported, this finale of the Walking Dead is likely to introduce Negan (Jeffery Dean Morgan), a notorious and deadly villain from the graphic novels. Negan and his group, The Saviors have been mentioned during this season but Negan has yet to be seen on screen.

Josh McDermott, who plays Eugene, opened up about the final two episodes.

“Everyone is so focused on the finale but the final two [episodes] are full-throttle for sure. When I read these next two episodes — I typically go through a script in about an hour but I read them both in about 20 minutes because I couldn’t turn the page fast enough. It just left a feeling in my stomach after reading these. We’re in new territory with the show now and we’re telling things in a different way that the show hasn’t done before. It stays with you.”

Executive producer of Dead, David Alpert, has also been talking about the introduction of Negan. Alpert explained that Negan is a character that will start conversations amongst fans of both the show and the graphic novels.

“I cannot wait to see the reaction to when we do the things we’re going to do at the end of this season. I think we will melt people’s minds.”

The Walking Dead airs Sunday from 9-10 p.m. on AMC; the season finale is set for April 3 from 9-10:30 p.m.
