Warner Bros. Announces ‘Minecraft’ Release Date


Warner Bros. has announced the release date for Minecraft. The movie will be released on May 24, 2019.

For those who aren’t as familiar with the popular video game, Minecraft is a building simulator. It can be summarized as “virtual LEGO.”

The cinematic adaptation of Minecraft is currently in development and with It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia star Rob McElhenney set to direct the project. The movie is set to be released in 3D and in IMAX. Lego Movie producer Roy Lee and Mean Girls producer Jill Messick are working on the property currently.

The summer 2019 schedule is already filling up. In May, Disney/Marvel will be releasing the second part of Avengers: Infinity War on May 3rd.
