Warner Bros. Developing ‘Nightwing’ Movie With ‘LEGO Batman’ Director

NightwingIt was announced today that Warner Bros. Pictures are developing a live-action movie for Dick Grayson a.k.a. Nightwing, with LEGO Batman director Chris McKay. The screenplay for the film is being written by Bill Dubuque (The Accountant). Grayson was the first Robin in the Batman mythology as Bruce Wayne took him in after his parents, The Flying Graysons, were murdered at the circus.

No release date was mentioned as the film is still in development and it remains to be seen whether we will see the character pop up before his solo film. Dick Grayson has been portrayed in live-action before as Chris O’Donnell (NCIS: Los Angeles) portrayed the character in Batman Forever and Batman & Robin.

Back in 2008, The CW were working on a prequel series for Dick Grayson as it would follow his life before the parents were murdered, but it ended up getting scrapped. This isn’t the only big Batman related news for today as Warner Bros. just announced that Matt Reeves is officially locked in to direct and produce The Batman.

Are you excited for a Nightwing solo film? Who would you cast as Dick Grayson in the DC Extended Universe? Sound off in the comments below.

Just turn Cyborg into a Titans film.

Wow, just when you think it couldn’t get any better.

Is this for real? I so can’t wait for it if it is!

Well well well, is this DC/WB finally getting some positive buzz or what? Nightwing movie is a great choice. I hope they’re learning the lesson that they don’t have to announce like 30 movies at once only for half of them to fall apart. Look you have all these properties, you have tons of stories to pull from, just take your time. Get The Batman back on track (seems like from today’s news that’s happening), figure out where you’re going with the Flash, Green Lantern Corps and Cyborg. There seems to be great buzz coming out of the early Wonder Woman screenings (hopefully not just hype) Just don’t rush things, take your time, breathe….1…2…3…lol… and things can turn out more than great
I admit I’m a Marvel boy, but I’m really not a DC hater. Maybe a couple of comments I’ve made before are a little douchey, but in the end I don’t WANT these movies to fail.
    Some encouraging news today :)

What’s the age-range for Nightwing? Teens or mid to late 20s? Couple of names pop off to me, Dev Patel? Daniel Kaluuya? Andrew Garfield? Haha sorry I’m just naming Brits

More 25 to 35ish; tricky part in nailing down his age is that he aged but Bruce seemingly didn’t in the comics lol.

Zac Efron is my personal choice.
