See Willem Dafoe’s Creepy Joker For Robert Pattinson’s ‘The Batman’

This design of Willem Dafoe's Joker would be intimidating in 'The Batman' sequel opposite Robert Pattinson.

A new fan edit reveals what Aquaman star Willem Dafoe could look like as The Joker for Robert Pattinson’s The Batman.

Recent rumors claimed that The Batman helmer Matt Reeves is looking to introduce the Joker in a sequel to the Robert Pattinson movie. Soon after, fans flooded social media to suggest their favorite actors for the villainous DC Comics role. One of the most popular choices for the role was none other than Aquaman star Willem Dafoe. The actor has previously played an unhinged villain in Tobey Maguire’s first cinematic solo outing as Spider-Man, and his recent manic performance in The Lighthouse opposite Pattinson shows that he can play a disturbed individual with ease. Interestingly, Pattinson’s Batman voice is apparently inspired by Dafoe’s work in The Lighthouse.

New artwork from digital artist ‘anarchy_graphicsllc’ on Instagram reveals what Willem Dafoe could look like as The Joker for Robert Pattinson’s The Batman sequel and it’s pretty sinister. The design is pretty simple and gives Dafoe green hair alongside a devilish grin. Comic book fans will instantly be reminded of Brian Azzarello and Lee Bermejo’s Joker series with this design. If the villain really is on the way for Pattinson’s sequel, Willem Dafoe could be an excellent addition to the film’s cast. Check out the design below.

Plot details for The Batman are being kept under wraps, but we know that the project will revolve around Robert Pattinson as a younger Bruce Wayne, chronicling Batman during his formative years as Gotham City’s protector. The Batman will also feature the hero making use of his detective skills more than what we’ve seen before in previous iterations of the character. It is also expected to be the first installment in a new Batman trilogy with Pattinson.

Directed by Matt Reeves from a script he co-wrote with Mattson Tomlin, the film stars Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson, Jayme Lawson as Bella Reál, with Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Colin Farrell as the Penguin.
