In the last question asked during today’s press conference for Avengers: Infinity War actor Sebastian Stan confirmed that Bucky Barnes, The Winter Solder, had changed and would smile.
The question was asked if Bucky had changed at all and whether or not the other Avengers would accept him. Stan was rather vague with his answer:
“I guess the guy smiles, finally. … He’s seeing where his allies are. He’s just been enjoying the coconut water in Wakanda.”
The last time we saw Bucky interact with other Avenger characters was during the 2016 film, Captain America: Civil War where he battled half of the characters. At the film’s end it was revealed that his character was the one who killed Tony Stark’s parents while he was under Hydra’s control, resulting in a very personal brawl between Bucky and Captain America against Iron Man. The fight’s ending ultimately left it ambiguous as to whether or not the two would ever be able to interact with Iron Man ever again. So the vagueness of the answer should not come as a surprise.
A more straightforward answer to this question would undoubtedly spoil major parts of the film. The character has not been seen in any of the trailers interacting with character from the opposing side of Civil War and we’re not likely to see how this unfolds until the film comes out. Luckily we will not have to wait to long as the film comes out in less then a week. Here is the synopsis for Avengers: Infinity War:
As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.
Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, the film stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Don Cheadle, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Peter Dinklage, Benedict Wong, Pom Klementieff, Karen Gillan, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow, Benicio del Toro, Josh Brolin, Chris Pratt, Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, Cobie Smulders, Jeremy Renner and Paul Rudd.

10 Superheroes You Didn’t Know Were In The Fantastic Four
It may sound counter-intuitive, but the Fantastic Four has had more than four members over the years. Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch and The Thing are the core of the team, but various superheroes have joined Marvel’s first family over the years. While they may be a superhero team, the Fantastic Four are closer to a group of explorers who have to rely on each other and use their wits to get out of sticky situations.
Whether the core members are lost in space or Reed and Susan just need some time away to work on their marriage, the Fantastic Four still have responsibilities. Crime never sleeps, and without the Fantastic Four keeping the world safe, even more villains would hatch their villainous plots. Whether it’s The Thing or someone else yelling, “it’s clobbering time,” the truth stands that the Fantastic Four will always be there to save the day.
