Scott Eastwood becomes Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine successor in this awesome artwork that envisions the character’s future on the big screen.
The artwork was created by BossLogic, who’s well known for his fan art and occasional work with official movie posters. In it, Scott Eastwood takes over the role of Wolverine from Hugh Jackman, who was last seen as the clawed X-Men hero in Logan. The piece is heavily detailed and has gotten Scott Eastwood’s likeness perfectly. Scott Eastwood’s Wolverine also has his claws out, looking menacingly into the distance.
You can check out the artwork of Scott Eastwood as Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine replacement below.
Fans have been championing Scott Eastwood to take over the role of Wolverine from Hugh Jackman for some time now. Scott Eastwood is no stranger to action films (or superhero films for that matter) thanks to his work in Suicide Squad, Pacific Rim: Uprising and Fury. Scott Eastwood has the range and would be a safe bet to replace Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, as they both have the same stature.
However, we have no idea when we will be seeing Wolverine back on the big screen. Now that Disney owns Fox, Marvel Studios has access to Wolverine and the X-Men, but there don’t seem to be any plans at the moment to bring the mutants back to the big screen. As disappointing as that sounds, it might be a good thing for the X-Men characters to take a break after the disastrous critical reception of Dark Phoenix.
Here is the synopsis for 20th Century Fox’s final X-Men film Dark Phoenix:
This is the story of one of the X-Men’s most beloved characters, Jean Grey, as she evolves into the iconic DARK PHOENIX. During a life-threatening rescue mission in space, Jean is hit by a cosmic force that transforms her into one of the most powerful mutants of all. Wrestling with this increasingly unstable power as well as her own personal demons, Jean spirals out of control, tearing the X-Men family apart and threatening to destroy the very fabric of our planet. The film is the most intense and emotional X-Men movie ever made. It is the culmination of 20 years of X-Men movies, as the family of mutants that we’ve come to know and love must face their most devastating enemy yet — one of their own.
Written and directed by Simon Kinberg, Dark Phoenix stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Evan Peters, and Jessica Chastain.
Dark Phoenix is now available on Digital HD, 4k Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD. Stay tuned for the latest news on Scott Eastwood, Hugh Jackman and the future of the X-Men in the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
