Vulture Senior Editor Kyle Buchanan has shared new details on Cheetah’s role in Warner Bros. and DC’s Wonder Woman 1984.
Earlier this year it was confirmed that Kristen Wiig has joined the Wonder Woman sequel as Cheetah, the main antagonist in the highly-anticipated film. While details on the Cheetah’s role in the film have been under wraps since Wiig’s casting, Vulture’s Senior Editor has revealed that he has heard the character will start off as a friend of Diana who “emulates” the DC heroine before attempting to “usurp” her, not unlike newer versions of the villain’s comic counterpart.
Since today is a good day for WONDER WOMAN scoops, I've heard that Kristen Wiig starts the sequel as Diana's friend, not her foe. She emulates Wonder Woman, then seeks to usurp her

Plot details for the film are currently under wraps, though the film will follow the Amazonian Princess during the Cold War as she faces off against the Soviet Union in the 1980s and encounters a new adversary named Cheetah.
Directed by Patty Jenkins and written by Dave Callaham, who based the script on a treatment by Jenkins and Geoff Johns, Wonder Woman 1984 stars Gal Gadot as the titular heroine, Kristen Wiig as Cheetah, Pedro Pascal in an undisclosed role, and Chris Pine as Steve Trevor.
Wonder Woman 1984 is currently scheduled to be released in theaters on November 1, 2019.
10 DC Comics Heroes That Should Be In The Next ‘Justice League’ Movie
The Justice League is DC’s premiere superhero team. These characters are the biggest names in the DC Comics universe. Zack Snyder’s Justice League movie introduced six members to audiences in the form of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash.
Despite the first Justice League film underperforming, there appears to be a sequel in some form of active development over at Warner Brothers. Based on the first film’s post-post scene, the team could be facing off against the Legion of Doom, so it appears the Justice League may need some extra assistance. Luckily there is a wide array of DC characters from the comics to pull from to strengthen the team’s roster.
