‘Wonder Woman’ Director Patty Jenkins Confirms Kristen Wiig As Cheetah

Wonder Woman 2 Cheetah Kristen WiigWonder Woman director Patty Jenkins has officially confirmed that Kristen Wiig has been cast as the villainous Cheetah for the film’s sequel.

Jenkins welcomed Wiig to the cast by sharing a message on Twitter, saying that she can’t wait to work with the actress. You can check out the tweet below.

The sequel is set to begin production on May 28th, with filming expected to take place in the United Kingdom. Gal Gadot is already on board to return as Wonder Woman.

Plot details for the Wonder Woman sequel are currently under wraps, though the film is said to follow the Amazonian Princess during the Cold War as she faces off against the Soviet Union in the 1980s. Chris Pine is also rumored to be returning as Steve Trevor.

Jenkins is back in the director’s chair for the sequel, working from a script by The Expendables co-writer Dave Callaham. The script is based on a treatment by Jenkins and DC President and Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns.

Wonder Woman 2 is currently set to hit theaters on November 1, 2019.
