‘Wonder Woman’ Star Gal Gadot In Talks To Join WWII Thriller ‘Ruin’

Wonder Woman

Deadline is reporting that Wonder Woman and Justice League star Gal Gadot is in talks to join Assassin’s Creed director Justin Kurzel’s next film Ruin.

Written by Matthew & Ryan Firpo, the film is described as “a gritty period revenge-thriller” set in post-World War II Germany, where a former Nazi captain hunts down the surviving members of his former SS Death Squad to atone for his war crimes. The film is being compared to Quentin Tarantino’s Inglorious Basterds and David Ayer’s Fury.

There is no word yet on the details of Gadot’s role. Ruin is eyeing an early 2018 production start in hopes of shooting ahead of Gadot’s next DCEU film, Wonder Woman 2, which director Patty Jenkins will return to helm.

Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman will next appear in Zack Snyder’s Justice League starring alongside Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry/Aquaman, Ezra Miller as Barry Allen/The Flash, Ray Fisher as Victor Stone/Cyborg, Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman, Ciaran Hinds as Steppenwolf, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Amber Heard as Mera, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, J.K. Simmons as Commissioner James Gordon, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Connie Nielson as Queen Hippolyta, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor.

“Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.”

Justice League hits theaters November 17, 2017.
