Woody Harrelson has confirmed he will indeed appear in Sony’s upcoming Venom movie and that he is on board for a sequel as well.
Venom follows the reporter-turned-Spider-Man nemesis, Eddie Brock played by Tom Hardy. The film has been confirmed to be an origin story for Venom with Carnage featured as the antagonist, with Harrelson rumored to be taking on the villainous role.
While Harrelson has yet to reveal whether or not he will be appearing in the film as Carnage, he did confirm in an interview with Collider that he has a role in the film — albeit small — and is sure he’ll appear in a future sequel should the movie get one:
“I’m in a little fraction of this movie, but I’ll be in the next one, you know? So I haven’t read that script, but anyways, just rolled the dice.”
Ruben Fleischer is directing the project from a script by Scott Rosenberg (Jumanji), Jeff Pinkner (The Dark Tower) and Kelly Marcel (Fifty Shades of Grey). Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, and Amy Pascal are producing.
Venom also stars Michelle Scott Haze, Jenny Slate, and Riz Ahmed, with Woody Harrelson.Tom Holland is rumored to appear as Peter Parker.
Venom is currently slated to hit theaters on October 5, 2018. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on Venom as we learn it.
