There has been a question as to how much Zach Snyder would be involved with the promotion of the highly anticipated Justice League ever since his unfortunate departure due to a family tragedy. A few days ago, Snyder announced that he would be releasing behind-the-scenes images from the team-up film, and he has delivered.
With only 29 days left until the film’s opening, Snyder has shared an intriguing new image on the mobile-based social media platform Vero. The image features the director flanked by costumed Atlanteans and Amazons looking ready to do battle with Steppenwolf and his army of parademons. Check out the image below:
One interesting Easter Egg here is that the Atlantean king (standing next to Snyder) is wearing Aquaman’s armor and crown and holding the trident. In the back top right, there is also an Amazonian warrior wearing a facial motion capture rig. Since this scene was filmed by Fabian Wagner, responsible for one of the greatest battle sequences ever put on screen (the Battle of the Bastards on Game of Thrones), I expect this opening to be epic. Even with all the green screen!
The superhero epic features a cast that includes Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne (Batman), Henry Cavill as Kal-El/Clark Kent (Superman), Gal Gadot as Diana Prince (Wonder Woman), Jason Momoa as Orin/Arthur Curry (Aquaman), Ezra Miller as Barry Allen (The Flash), Ray Fisher as Victor Stone (Cyborg), Ciarán Hinds as Steppenwolf, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta, Robin Wright as General Antiope, J. K. Simmons as Commissioner James ‘Jim’ Gordon and Joe Morton as Dr. Silas Stone. Julian Lewis Jones and Michael McElhatton are also in the movie in unspecified role.
Justice League opens on November 17, 2017.
