Zack Snyder Explains His Decision To Use ‘Doomsday’ In ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice’

When the third trailer for the highly-anticipated Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice hit, it confirmed the rumor that had been floating around that the film would feature the titular characters taking on the big screen debut of Doomsday. However, some fans weren’t too happy about this decision and feel as if the character should have been saved for a later film. While speaking with Empire Magazine, the director explained his decision to include the DC Comics villain and why he felt this was the right choice for the film.

To go up against heroes like Batman and Superman, we wanted to introduce one of the DC Universe’s most iconic and powerful villains. He is essentially an unstoppable force. He poses a real threat to the world within the film.

However, Doomsday won’t be the only threat in the upcoming films. While the director wouldn’t comment on Lex Luthor’s involvement in the creation of Doomsday, he did reveal some new information about his role in the film and his interest in metahumans.

You learn pretty early on that Lex is interested in metahuman existence and that there might be some relationship between that investigation and the appearance of Diana Prince.

Some interesting stuff and we will only have to wait about two more months to find out just how Lex investigation brings Diana Prince into the fold. Let us know your thoughts on Snyder’s comments in the section below.
