Disney star and musician Zendaya has confirmed her involvement in the upcoming Spider-Man reboot on The Ellen Degeneres Show. While she couldn’t provide details about her character or involvement with the project, she was allowed to say she is offically on board.
“I can’t say anything else other than I’m going to be in it.”
She added that she has no idea when the film will start shooting or she needs to be on set.
“I have no idea … to be completely honest. But it’s very exciting, when it comes to the acting space, I am basically unknown. I’ve never been in a real movie before or anything like that, so I had to start from the bottom like anyone else.”
When the news first broke about Zendaya joining the project, it was suggested that her character’s name would be Michele. Could this possibly be an incarnation of Michele Gonzales from the comics who is the sister of Vin Gonzales and at one point was Peter Parker’s roommate and a potential love interest?
Zendaya will be joining Tom Holland and Marissa Tomei in the upcoming film which is scheduled to hit theaters on July 7, 2017.
Tom Holland (Spiderman) has already made an appearance as the web-slinging character in the most recent trailer for Captain America: Civil War. According to research firm ListenFirst the trailer for the film dethrone Suicide Squad for the trailer with the most likes, retweets and other Twitter engagement of any other released this year.
