’Iron Fist’ Taps ’Game Of Thrones’ Director For Episode 4

Marvel’s Iron Fist is full out in production in New York as the fourth Marvel/Netflix series in the franchise gets closer to the gathering of Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Daredevil and Iron Fist as Marvel’s The Defenders which will be coming to the streaming service (hopefully) next year.

MCU Exchange reported today that IMDb is listing Game of Thrones director Miguel Sapochnik as the director for the untitled fourth episode. While IMDb isn’t always the must trust-worthy source, the chances that Sapochnik is directing an episode of this series, isn’t completely impossible.

“Danny Rand returns to New York City after being missing for years, trying to reconnect with his past and his family legacy. He fights against the criminal element corrupting his world around him with his incredible kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist.

“Marvel’s Iron Fist” is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios for Netflix.”

Iron Fist, starring Finn Jones as Danny Rand, Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing, Jessica Stroup as Joy Meachum, Tom Pelphrey as Ward Meachum, David Wenham as Harold Meachum and Carrie-Ann Moss reprising her role as Jeri Hogarth, is currently in production and is expected to be released on Netflix sometime in 2017.

Jones will make his debut in the Season 1 finale of Luke Cage which debuts on Netflix on Friday, September 30th. Marvel’s The Defenders is expected to start production towards the end of the year, starring Jones as Iron Fist, Mike Colter as Luke Cage, Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones and Charlie Cox as Daredevil.
