DC Studios and HBO’s Lanterns series is entering its final stages of casting. The much-anticipated series, which will focus on the Green Lanterns Corps, is one of the key upcoming projects in James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DC Universe.
The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Aaron Pierre, star of Netflix’s Rebel Ridge and Disney’s upcoming Mufasa: The Lion King, and Stephan James from The Piano Lesson are both being considered for the role of John Stewart, a fan-favorite Green Lantern. Damson Idris, who starred in FX’s Snowfall, was also previously considered for the role of John Stewart but is no longer in contention. The names were first reported by a Hollywood insider who goes by “MyTimeToShineHello” on Twitter.
