White Lotus star Fred Hechinger will star as Chameleon for Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s Kraven the Hunter film.

Sony’s universe of Spider-Man characters is expanding! One of the most anticipated projects coming out of the studio is Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s Kraven the Hunter film, which is set to begin production soon. Sony has been rounding out the cast with heavyweights and has now brought in White Lotus breakout star Fred Hechinger as the film’s Chameleon. Deadline was the first to learn the news.

A master of disguise, Chameleon is best known as the half-brother of Kraven the Hunter. This lines up with previous reports that suggested the Sony picture would focus on Kraven’s family. Russell Crowe most recently joined the film’s cast as the father of Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s character. Details beyond that are slim, though we’re confident that the film is in good hands knowing Margin Call director J.C. Chandor will be helming the Sony project.

Here is the synopsis for Sony’s last Spider-Man film, No Way Home:

For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero’s identity is revealed, bringing his Super Hero responsibilities into conflict with his normal life and putting those he cares about most at risk. When he enlists Doctor Strange’s help to restore his secret, the spell tears a hole in their world, releasing the most powerful villains who’ve ever fought a Spider-Man in any universe. Now, Peter will have to overcome his greatest challenge yet, which will not only forever alter his own future but the future of the Multiverse.

Directed by Jon Watts from a script written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, No Way Home stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Tony Revolori, Martin Starr, J.B. Smoove, Marisa Tomei, Jon Favreau, Benedict Wong, Benedict Cumberbatch, Willem Dafoe, Alfred Molina, and Jamie Foxx, with Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire.
