‘Agent Carter’ Cancelled By ABC

Ever since the season two finale of ABC’s Marvel drama Agent Carter, starring Hayley Atwell as S.S.R. agent Peggy Carter from the Captain America franchise, fans have been wondering whether or not the network would be renewing the series for a third year. While the show has done well critically, this season showed the ratings declined from the first season of Agent Carter

Until today, as ABC announced that Agent Carter will not be back for a third season after all which has been majorly speculated by several outlets as the networks are doing their pick-ups, renewals for the next season. Back in March, we got a renewal for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. which will begin its fourth season this fall. With Agent Carter now cancelled, the only other Marvel show on ABC that we haven’t heard about yet is the S.H.I.E.L.D. spin-off, Marvel’s Most Wanted starring Mockingbird (Adrianne Palicki) and Lance Hunter (Nick Blood) that so far only has a pilot order.

In addition to that, the comedy series, Marvel’s Damage Control, has also remained quiet in its development. There is also the mystery Marvel project that American Crime’s John Ridley is working on that we haven’t heard anything about either in a while. The ABC Upfront is taking place next week so more updates should be arriving either this week or on the day of their Upfront.

However, for fans of Atwell: if you want to see more of her on ABC this fall, you can catch her on as lead of Conviction which has been picked up to series!

Don’t forget to tune in for the two-hour season finale of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. which airs next Tuesday, May 17 at 9/8c on ABC.
