Tonight, Walt Disney Pictures released the first teaser trailer for their upcoming live-action adaptation of Aladdin. The film stars Will Smith as the Genie along with Mena Massoud and Naomi Scott as Aladdin and Jasmine respectively.
Although the first teaser doesn’t reveal all that much in regards to footage other than some nice landscape shots of Agrabah and glimpse at the Cave of Wonders, a lot of people are getting pretty excited to see how director Guy Ritchie brings the beloved animated classic to life in live-action form.

But some are critical with the brief teaser, with some not fond of the heavy CGI animation seen on display and others skeptical for numerous reasons that include the absence of the Genie:
The Aladdin teaser looks either like a high production commercial made for the Broadway play or a low production film shot exclusively on an overly lit green screen.

I know this is only a teaser trailer, but I think I'll be better off sticking to the 1992 animated version of 'Aladdin'. https://t.co/G0eDQKdVYg

Certainly, the next trailer will give fans a better glimpse at all of the other elements that will of course, include Will Smith stepping into the massive shoes left behind by Robin Williams.
