Alan Ritchson Reacher Fast X Cast

Alan Ritchson, star of Reacher on Amazon Prime Video, has officially joined the cast of Fast X alongside Vin Diesel, Jason Momoa and Brie Larson, Deadline has confirmed.

Fast X, the tenth installment in the Fast & Furious franchise, recently entered production and Alan Ritchson has become the latest franchise newcomer added to the cast. The casting comes after news Justin Lin is stepping down as director of the film, with Louis Leterrier named frontrunner to replace him. Ritchson certainly has the action credentials – and the muscle – to go toe-to-toe with the likes of Vin Diesel, Jason Momoa and John Cena, as seen in his work in Reacher, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Titans.

Alongside Alan Ritchson, Jason Momoa and Brie Larson have both been confirmed to be joining the Fast & Furious franchise in Fast X. Little is currently known of Larson’s role, though Momoa has been confirmed to be playing a major antagonist in the upcoming film. Set photos recently revealed Momoa filming a motorcycle stunt for the film, looking suitably stylish and intimidating. Details have not yet been revealed of Ritchson’s role in the film and whether he will be working against or alongside Momoa’s villain.

Most of F9‘s principal cast are expected to return in Fast X, which is set to serve as the first part in a two-part finale to the Fast & Furious series. With filming already underway, Alan Ritchson is likely jumping straight into the action following his casting, helping round out the franchise.

Here is the synopsis for the latest film in the franchise, F9: The Fast Saga:

Vin Diesel’s Dom Toretto is leading a quiet life off the grid with Letty and his son, little Brian, but they know that danger always lurks just over their peaceful horizon. This time, that threat will force Dom to confront the sins of his past if he’s going to save those he loves most. His crew joins together to stop a world-shattering plot led by the most skilled assassin and high-performance driver they’ve ever encountered: a man who also happens to be Dom’s forsaken brother, Jakob (John Cena, this year’s The Suicide Squad).

F9 sees the return of Justin Lin as director, who helmed the third, fourth, fifth and sixth chapters of the series when it transformed into a global blockbuster. The action hurtles around the globe—from London to Tokyo, from Central America to Edinburgh, and from a secret bunker in Azerbaijan to the teeming streets of Tblisi. Along the way, old friends will be resurrected, old foes will return, history will be rewritten, and the true meaning of family will be tested like never before.

Directed by Justin Lin from a script written by Daniel Casey, F9 stars Vin Diesel, John Cena, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Cardi B, and Sung Kang, with Helen Mirren and Charlize Theron.

F9 is available on all home video formats. Fast X is currently set to hit theaters on May 19, 2023. Stay tuned for all the latest news surrounding the franchise and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube franchise for more original video content.
